The Four Pillars of Well-Being
On the first Blog entry of this section I want to write about the overall approach to sustainable Well-being.
Due to the modern lifestyle that most of us know and live upon, we hear more often than ever about the damaging effect of a sedentary lifestyle, bad eating habits, lack of sleep and stress; this is something that affects a significant number of the World´s population.
So, what to do?
These are the four most important components for a sustainable and balanced lifestyle according to my own experience and supported in years of studies and thorough research.
1. Exercise: Done regularly and effectively is a key ingredient to live to our highest potential, of course this isn´t by any account new, however is very important to recognize which types of exercise are most effective and which one is the best for you.
2. Food: Healthy eating is the core of our experience of life as human beings, if we run on the best kind of fuel available to us, then as a consecuence our body will perform at its peak transforming our life first and impacting positively the ones around us.
3. Sleep: Most humans need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep to perform best, it is the time that the body needs to recharge, recover and eliminate toxins; hence the importance of sleeping the necessary amount of time every night. Not only it will make us feel great, it has a deep impact in everything else that we do, so its crucial to start resting enough.
4. Meditation: At this time and age we have started to see in the "mainstream" more and more people talking about the benefits of a Medtiation practice, play around with a couple until you find the one that suits you best. Thanks to the technology of this era we are now able to measure and even enhance and accelerate its benefits. I find that really cool!
